Our Team

Dr. Jaimin Patel

MRCVS Veterinary Surgeon

Jaimin has worked in small animal veterinary practices for more than 15 years. He has had the opportunity to work in hospitals and emergency care practices and is particularly interested in Orthopedics and soft tissue surgery.

Jaimin set up Happy Tails Vets with his wife Jaimin and is passionate about providing high quality care for pets and their owners.

Jaimin has always enjoyed getting to know clients and their pets, and is looking forward to doing the same at Happy Tails Vets.

Outside of work Jaimin loves trying different tea, enjoys travelling, spending time with his family and is kept busy with his son. Jaimin also loves to watch and play cricket whenever he gets time.

Amy Jarvis RVN

Registered Veterinary Nurse

Amy first studied animals when she went to Plumpton college and studied animal care/management. She then went on to the Animal Nursing course and began working in practice as a kennel assistant and shortly after began training as an Apprentice to be a Qualified Veterinary Nurse.

Amy has been working in the Veterinary industry since 2015, most of it worked with Jaimin! Amy qualified as Registered Veterinary Nurse in January 2021. Amy took a short break from nursing while she had her beautiful daughter, Ava.

We were delighted when Amy agreed to join us prior to the opening of Happy Tails in August 2022, helping us set up processes, systems and the practice prior to opening.

Amy also helps manage our Facebook. If you don’t mind photos of your fur babies being posted on our Facebook page please let Amy/reception know.

Amy has got quite a lot of experience providing nursing support to Jaimin, including during the long orthopaedic surgeries.

Outside of work Amy enjoys spending time with her family and her two chihuahuas, Benji and Buddy!

Laura Stacey RVN

Registered Veterinary Nurse

Laura has always had a keen interest in animal care, starting from when she was a child helping out on her grandparents’ farm. She first studied animals when she went to Plumpton college and studied animal care/management. Shortly after completing this course, Laura decided to work with horses until she was offered a job in a veterinary practice as a kennel assistant in 2006.

She was then accepted onto the Apprenticeship for Small Animal Veterinary Nursing and qualified as a Registered Veterinary Nurse in April 2021.

We were so pleased when Laura joined the Happy Tails team in September 2022. She has quickly become an integral part of the team, managing new client registrations, supporting reception, helping with administration in addition to providing nursing support to Jaimin including during the long Orthopaedic ops!

Laura has a special talent with DIY, which we have certainly benefited from. Outside of work Laura has done tiling, painting and decorating.

In her spare time, she is often found taking care of her horse Bella, spending time with her partner and family, in addition to walking her rescue dog, Sprout.

Karen Marder

Receptionist

Karen has worked across many industries, working in banking and retail for 21 years before moving across to the veterinary industry working as a veterinary receptionist for the last 8 years, most of which has been spent working with Jaimin!

Karen worked with Jaimin for 5 years previously. We were delighted when Karen decided to join us at Happy Tails as a veterinary receptionist when we opened. She has been instrumental in helping set up before we opened.

Karen has an amazing memory and has the ability to recall the smallest details and is a warm, friendly and welcoming face as you walk into reception.

In her spare time Karen enjoys spending time with her partner and family, has a busy social calendar and loves her holidays, weekends away and the finer things in life!

Although Karen does not currently have any pets she previously had a small holding with horses, chickens, goats, geese, cats and dogs. Karen also used to teach horse riding.

Tracy Burden

Receptionist

Tracy is one of our receptionists. She started with us in September 2022 and is loving working at Happy Tails!

Not coming from the veterinary industry, since joining Tracy has hit the ground running and is an integral part of the team. Tracy helps with administration, in addition to setting up clients on the pet health club and working on reception.

Tracy has worked as a dental nurse on and off for most of her working life in between having her four children. Tracy has also worked managing a pub, before finding her dream job working around animals at Happy Tails.

Tracy is a warm and friendly face on reception, has incredible attention to detail and is passionate about providing our clients the best service possible. We are very lucky to have her.

Outside of work Tracy is owned by 2 elderly little dogs and her hobbies include collecting, customising and upcycling furniture and interesting things. Tracy is very talented at making beautiful furniture. Do check out her etsy shop if you like vintage furniture – it is called @rubyleighvintage. Tracy also loves cooking food (especially authentic Indian food), relaxing and spending time with her friends and family.

Pakeeza Ali

Administration

Assistant/Reception

Pakeeza has worked in retail, in property management, before she found her calling working for us!

Pakeeza has worked as a team leader, worked in a busy retail environment, more recently helping to account for vat and other finance tasks in addition to supporting reception at our practice.

Pakeeza is a woman of many talents, is also a beautician, has made her own soaps and skincare!

Pakeeza loves having cuddles with inpatients and posts your fur babies’ photos on our Instagram. If you don’t mind photos of your fur babies being posted on our instagram page please let Pakeeza/reception know.

In her spare time Pakeeza loves fashion, shopping, spending time with family in addition to spending time with her cat Ella.

Hemali Patel

Practice Manager

Hemali has previously managed finance teams, before she set up Happy Tails Vets with her husband Jaimin. When setting up the practice Hemali & Jaimin wanted to create a friendly practice where Jaimin can get to know clients’ pets.

Hemali loves meeting pets when she comes to work, especially since Hemali & Jaimin have no pets of their own. Hemali feels lucky to work with such a relaxed, friendly and committed team at Happy Tails Vets.

When not at work Hemali is busy running around after her energetic son, spending time with her family and cooking. Hemali also likes going to the gym when she has a bit of free time.
