Services
At Happy Tails Vets we offer a wide range of surgical services to ensure your pet’s
health and well-being. Whether your pet needs an emergency surgery, a routine
procedure, or specialised care, our experienced team is here to help. Below are
some of the common surgeries we perform.
Emergency appointments are available for pets requiring immediate
surgical intervention.
BOAS (Brachycephalic Obstructive Airway Syndrome) is a common breathing issue in Brachycephalic (flat-faced dogs) including Bulldogs and Pugs. Surgery can help clear their airways, making it easier for them to breathe, exercise, and enjoy life without breathing difficulty, improving their quality of life.
Repairs
Cruciate Ligament Repairs We can offer different techniques of repair, depending on what is most suitable for the size of the pet.
This condition is usually common in young pets, where surgical repair is necessary.
Fractures (broken bones) and dislocations of joints can be common in pets, especially after trauma/injury/accident. We offer diagnosis and expert surgical repair to ensure your pet’s bones heal properly, so that your pet can get back to their usual activities in no time.
Soft Tissue Surgery
Soft tissue surgery includes the common procedures: neutering, tumour/lump removal, abdominal surgery and is used to treat a variety of health issues.
Gastrointestinal problems, including foreign body obstructions
Anal gland surgery including removal of anal glands
Liver and spleen surgeries including splenectomies
Bladder surgery including bladder stone removal
We also perform a variety of eye procedures, dentals and more!
After any surgery your pet needs time and rest to heal properly. We provide detailed guidance on managing pain, wound care, limiting physical activity, and ensuring that your pet stays comfortable during their recovery process.
It is essential to follow our instructions carefully, as this will help promote healing and reduce the risk of complications.
In addition to managing pain and restricting movement we also work with you to schedule follow-up visits to monitor your pet's progress and make any necessary adjustments to their recovery plan. By staying on top of these steps you can ensure your pet has a smooth and successful recovery.
During recovery if you need veterinary advice/have any questions outside of our opening hours you can use the VidiVet app, where you can chat with a qualified vet 24/7. It is a great way to get quick guidance when you are unsure or need help right away.
VidiVet is free of charge for our active clients, courtesy of Happy Tails Vets!
