Happy Tails Vets is an independent family run small animal practice. Our talented veterinary professionals are passionate about animals, strive to provide excellent standards of care and treat each pet as if it were their own. Our small team ensures continuity of care in our purpose-built facilities. There is plenty of available off-street private parking for our clients in addition to parking on the road immediately outside the practice.
Our lead vet Jaimin Patel has more than 15 years of experience working in small animal practices, including hospitals and emergency care practices. Jaimin has a particular interest in Orthopaedics and soft tissue surgery.
Happy Tails Vets offers a range of veterinary services as well as extensive emergency services should illness or accidents occur. With a caring team, you can relax knowing your pet is in the best of hands.
Our Team
Dr. Jaimin Patel
MRCVS Veterinary Surgeon
Jaimin has worked in small animal veterinary practices for more than 15 years. He has had the opportunity to work in hospitals and emergency care practices and is particularly interested in Orthopedics and soft tissue surgery.
Jaimin set up Happy Tails Vets with his wife Jaimin and is passionate about providing high quality care for pets and their owners.
Jaimin has always enjoyed getting to know clients and their pets, and is looking forward to doing the same at Happy Tails Vets.
Outside of work Jaimin loves trying different tea, enjoys travelling, spending time with his family and is kept busy with his son. Jaimin also loves to watch and play cricket whenever he gets time.
Amy Jarvis RVN
Registered Veterinary Nurse
Amy first studied animals when she went to Plumpton college and studied animal care/management. She then went on to the Animal Nursing course and began working in practice as a kennel assistant and shortly after began training as an Apprentice to be a Qualified Veterinary Nurse.
Amy has been working in the Veterinary industry since 2015, most of it worked with Jaimin! Amy qualified as Registered Veterinary Nurse in January 2021. Amy took a short break from nursing while she had her beautiful daughter, Ava.
We were delighted when Amy agreed to join us prior to the opening of Happy Tails in August 2022, helping us set up processes, systems and the practice prior to opening.
Amy also helps manage our Facebook. If you don’t mind photos of your fur babies being posted on our Facebook page please let Amy/reception know.
Amy has got quite a lot of experience providing nursing support to Jaimin, including during the long orthopaedic surgeries.
Outside of work Amy enjoys spending time with her family and her two chihuahuas, Benji and Buddy!
Emily Liddiard RVN
Registered Veterinary Nurse
Emily started as an Animal Nursing Assistant in 2011 and then started her veterinary nurse training at Plumpton College in 2012 and qualified in 2016.
Emily has been working in veterinary practices since 2011 and brings with her heaps of experience!
Emily joined the Happy Tails Vets team in March 2023, bringing her amazing organisational skills, wonderful sense of humour and vast experience to our practice. Emily has quickly integrated within the practice, supporting reception, helping with administration in addition to providing nursing support to our vet team, including during the wide variety of Ops we carry out at the practice.
Emily has an interest in weight management and diabetes.
In her spare time Emily enjoys spending time with her family, including her young son and rescue cat Terry, plus two Guinea pigs Fudge and ChuChu. Emily also loves gardening and travelling to her second home, Corfu!
Karen Marder
Receptionist
Karen has worked across many industries, working in banking and retail for 21 years before moving across to the veterinary industry working as a veterinary receptionist for the last 8 years, most of which has been spent working with Jaimin!
Karen worked with Jaimin for 5 years previously. We were delighted when Karen decided to join us at Happy Tails as a veterinary receptionist when we opened. She has been instrumental in helping set up before we opened.
Karen has an amazing memory and has the ability to recall the smallest details and is a warm, friendly and welcoming face as you walk into reception.
In her spare time Karen enjoys spending time with her partner and family, has a busy social calendar and loves her holidays, weekends away and the finer things in life!
Although Karen does not currently have any pets she previously had a small holding with horses, chickens, goats, geese, cats and dogs. Karen also used to teach horse riding.
Tracy Burden
Receptionist
Tracy is one of our receptionists. She started with us in September 2022 and is loving working at Happy Tails!
Not coming from the veterinary industry, since joining Tracy has hit the ground running and is an integral part of the team. Tracy helps with administration, in addition to setting up clients on the pet health club and working on reception.
Tracy has worked as a dental nurse on and off for most of her working life in between having her four children. Tracy has also worked managing a pub, before finding her dream job working around animals at Happy Tails.
Tracy is a warm and friendly face on reception, has incredible attention to detail and is passionate about providing our clients the best service possible. We are very lucky to have her.
Outside of work Tracy is owned by 2 elderly little dogs and her hobbies include collecting, customising and upcycling furniture and interesting things. Tracy is very talented at making beautiful furniture. Do check out her etsy shop if you like vintage furniture – it is called @rubyleighvintage. Tracy also loves cooking food (especially authentic Indian food), relaxing and spending time with her friends and family.
Pakeeza Ali
Administration
Assistant/Reception
Pakeeza has worked in retail, in property management, before she found her calling working for us!
Pakeeza has worked as a team leader, worked in a busy retail environment, more recently helping to account for vat and other finance tasks in addition to supporting reception at our practice.
Pakeeza is a woman of many talents, is also a beautician, has made her own soaps and skincare!
Pakeeza loves having cuddles with inpatients and posts your fur babies’ photos on our Instagram. If you don’t mind photos of your fur babies being posted on our instagram page please let Pakeeza/reception know.
In her spare time Pakeeza loves fashion, shopping, spending time with family in addition to spending time with her cat Ella.
Hemali Patel
Practice Manager
Hemali has previously managed finance teams, before she set up Happy Tails Vets with her husband Jaimin. When setting up the practice Hemali & Jaimin wanted to create a friendly practice where Jaimin can get to know clients’ pets.
Hemali loves meeting pets when she comes to work, especially since Hemali & Jaimin have no pets of their own. Hemali feels lucky to work with such a relaxed, friendly and committed team at Happy Tails Vets.
When not at work Hemali is busy running around after her energetic son, spending time with her family and cooking. Hemali also likes going to the gym when she has a bit of free time.
